Meet Your Doula Chelsea (she/her/ella)

I am a cis-gender, heterosexual afro-latina + dominican woman born, raised and still living in my beloved community of Washington Heights, NYC.

I believe pregnancy and all the outcomes it may lead to (healthy baby birth, miscarriage, etc.) is one of the most transformative of human experiences and my purpose is to support birthing people through these moments.

I also believe that advocating for and providing access to an informed and self-determined birthing experience is important for everyone, but particularly birthing people in the Black, Indigenous and Latinx community, who disproportionately experience the consequences of systemic racism and white supremacy.

I completed my reproductive justice centered doula training with Chanel Porchia-Albert at Ancient Song Doula Services and am currently a mentee in the inaugural cohort of the Conscious Birth Collective Mentorship Program.

I also have a Masters in Social-Organizational Psychology from Columbia University that I use in my work as a learning & development consultant. My work in leadership development and training as a certified executive coach has sharpened my ability to meet people where they are, listen deeply to their needs and tap into their innate potential for flourishing.

I see my work as a doula as just one of the many ways in which I can continue to live my purpose in supporting as many as I can in their journeys of enjoying and growing through this one and precious life.

Contact me below if you’re interested in a free consultation for full-spectrum doula services, including grief support, in either Spanish or English and are located in uptown Manhattan / Harlem, the Bronx or Queens.

Birth Doula Support

Transition Doula Support

Unwavering support and advocacy before, during and after birth.

Specifically, this includes includes 3 pre-natal visits (virtual or in person), labor support as well as 1 post-partum visit across all birthing settings (e.g. hospital, birth center or at home). The goal of the pre-natal visits is for us to get to know each other, to discuss your ideal birth experience and what we can do to get as close to that as possible when your labor comes.

My focus is on ensuring that you feel the support and empowerment you need to make informed choices about the birthing experience you hope to have and feel like you have an advocate by your side at every step of the way.

The period after the birth is unique and complex for every birthing person.

For most birthing people, the time following birth can be one of tremendous change and transition. And even with a partner by their side, post partum people may or may not have the physical, emotional or educational support they need to be present and whole with the experience of transformation.

Transition support includes up to 6 months of coaching + educational support while the birthing person moves from one stage in their post partum journey to another.

How can I help?

I look forward to responding to your message!
